Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have been touted as the solution for decarbonizing the transportation sector. While most agree that BEVs are practical and cost-effective for light-duty transportation, the jury is still out on areas of transportation that require higher energy density, such as material handling in distribution centers, long-haul cargo, maritime shipping, and aviation. Many believe that hydrogen is the answer, evidenced by significant public and private market activity in the space over the past year. However, the vast majority of current hydrogen is produced using fossil fuels. For hydrogen to become the transportation fuel of the future, “green” hydrogen will need to continue to see cost reductions, technology improvements, and support from policy makers.
Join us on Wednesday, September 15th for a virtual discussion on the future of Hydrogen-powered Transportation! YPE San Francisco and YPE NYC partnered to bring you panelists from Plug Power, ZeroAvia, and BayoTech to discuss how hydrogen can be harnessed cleanly and efficiently to overcome its supply chain, scalability and cost challenges, and what role it can play in the transportation decarbonization toolbox.
